Bordering one of the 4 championship golf courses and just a few hundreds from the private beach club

Spacious grounds with an exceptionally large pool and patio complete with a very comfortable gazebo complete with bar, seating and dinning area

What is exceptional about this gracious estate which is only 3 years old, is that the new owners have decided to offer rates which are about 50% less than any comparable villa (although there are not many that are comparable), in order to attract guests, who will appreciate the value, service, privacy and share this experience with their family and friends who will return in the future.

The staff consists of a cook, houseman, housekeeper and gardner/pool-man to which one can add services such as a chef, baby sitters, van and driver etc of at course additional cost. All is managed by a very competent local company.

Some of which are available for rent for vacation rental and the price ranges are considerable.

Casa de Campo is a gated resort and has four championship golf courses designed by Pete Dye, three of which can be used by any guest and the fourth is a private club for members only. A modern marina is surrounded by shops, restaurants and was developed some 12 years ago.

Moon Reach St James Barbados

The Villa Report was first published in 1982 as a reliable guide to take the guess work out of  selecting a special vacation home/villa. In order to obtain the most accurate and objective information The Villa Report now consists of a handful of experts who have combined their expertise of well over 150 years in the international Real Estate field a derivative of which is the rental of private second homes, usually located in resort locations around the world.

Each property has been inspected by The Villa Report and or it’s trusted associates and has been selected for its outstanding features, value, location, management, staff and facilities.

Only a precious few properties will ever be featured and absolutely no advertising is accepted.

Our choice for outstanding value in the super luxury class for 2010 is “Moon Reach” in a beautiful beachfront setting in the parish of St. James, Barbados. Built of coral stone in the mid 1950’s by Oliver Messel the premier architect of that period.  There is over an acre property with tropical gardens and free-form pool, this exceptional villa was completely and beautifully renovated in 2001 by the new owner.

This 10,000  square feet villa consist of a formal living room which spans nearly the length of the villa and is mirrored by the equally large informal covered veranda with living and dining areas. For dinning alfresco the garden gazebo is ideal and borders the beach.

The five air-conditioned bedrooms, one on the ground level opening onto the garden and pool, are complete with king-sized bed, satellite TV, dressing room, and en suite bathroom. The upstairs bedrooms consist of two identical master bedrooms and two additional similar guest bedrooms, all of which enjoy private covered terraces and views of the gardens, pool and the beach.

A large games room in a separate building just twenty feet from the house is equipped with exercise equipment, pool table and a variety of entertainment. Maximum occupancy for Moon Reach is 10 including children.

Guests’ wishes are attended to by several staff whose hours are staggered between 8:30am through the evening meal,  including, chef, butler, maids, laundress, and gardener with the exception of the night watchman who will be there from dusk to dawn. Your staff will happily familiarize you with your villa and its surroundings and free you of all responsibility while the villa is efficiently run behind the scenes.

Although Barbados beaches are public, this property is in one of the most desirable locations on the island. The most convenient swimming is a few paces to the right of the property and one can stroll along the beach for a considerable distance.

Sir Grantley Adams International Airport is approximately 14 miles and Sandy Lane only 4 miles. Restaurants, golf and shopping are conveniently at hand.
